This is my first blog, so bare with me. This week at my school was homecoming week, and it was pretty cool. They had all sorts of fun stuff to do during lunch and after and before school. One fun thing that they had was the powderpuff game. That was so funny to watch girls trying to play football. One of the funniest things I saw was a girl running on the kick off return and was about to get her flag pulled off so she decided to throw it to another team mate. The announcer was like "You can't throw the football on a return." it was so funny.
After the game they had a free spirit stomp, if you don't know what it is, it is a dance in the courtyard but you don't need a date it just a lot of moshing pretty much. It was way fun, and they was decent music, and a ton of people there. There was almost a fight too because this kid kept pushing people.
During lunch one day they were giving out cups of Pepsi products, like Pepsi, sierra mist, mountain dew, etc. Me and one of my friends had a competition to see who could drink the most cups of Mountain Dew. I don't remember how much he had but I had 13 cups. My stomach hurt so much after that. If everyone is ever thinking of doing that I advise you not to.
Then for the most important part besides the dance, the game. We faced out biggest rival Bountiful High. I had to go because I am in pep band. Now don't make fun of me because pep band is awesome! I play the French Horn normally but for pep band I play the Mellophone, which is like a French Horn and a Trumpet combined. Normally were aren't the best at football, and we haven't beaten Bountiful for a long time. On Friday the sophomore team and JV team both beat them, so everyone was so excited to win.
The game started at seven and the whole place was packed by halftime. My lips started hurting by the end of the first quarter because we played a lot. We are a way awesome pep band and we are really big, 150 people, the biggest in the history of the school. This is also my first year and pep band, and even high school, and it was really fun. Something weird happened between the third and fourth quarter, the lights went out. It took about twenty minutes to get them back on, but it was fun because we were still playing our music by memory, it was cool.
But we lost. It was very horrible. The score was 24 to 7 and I wasn't very happy. I didn't end up going to the dance because I am not sixteen yet so my parents would not let me got. I didn't really care that I didn't go because I didn't feel like it this year. So that was my exciting yet sad homecoming week.
